Heirloom Engravers has always been a family business. Back when the big kids were small (around ten or twelve) we had them in the shop after school doing homework and helping wrap and unwrap big orders. The big kids are all grown up now and have their own vocations, but I still call Sven, my oldest who is a Michelin rated chef “Boy, we’ve got a big order, can you help tonight?” He usually says yes, so long as I buy him dinner.

Now we have Diana who is 5 in the shop, occasionally, and in 5 years she’ll be a regular after school and on weekends. It’ll be fun, all over again! My wife, Mei, always offers to help on the big orders, or to bring us dinner when we work late. The shop is our home away from home, so when you come to visit us with an order we kinda treat you like family too.
